Bella’s
story, as
told by her mother, Shannah:
This
is my daughter Bella. In July of 2007, when she 4, she became
paralyzed and was diagnosed with Stage 4 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma,
a very aggressive, rare childhood cancer.
Her
main tumor was wrapped around her spine with several metastases
throughout her little body. The doctors felt that she would
never walk again and that she probably would only live a
few more months.
However, by the grace of God and the prayers and support
of her medical team, friends, and family, she is walking,
running, jumping and playing! She handled 54 weeks of chemo
and 16 weeks of radiation like a champion and always with
a smile. She was in remission for about a year and started
school. Unfortunately, in April of 2009, at 6 years old,
her cancer came back. So again we are fighting, but again
we will win! She is an inspiration to all. She is fighting
a deadly disease but is so full of love and life. She is
always smiling, always happy, and our hero!
